Speed King’s MG, James Martin’s Alfa Romeo, and Rare Aston Martin Continuation Lead Early Consignments to RM Sotheby’s Woodcote Park Auction

LONDON, ENGLAND – May 6, 2026 – (Motor Sports NewsWire) Several notable early consignments have been made to The Woodcote Park Auction, RM Sotheby’s brand-new mid-summer sale that will take place alongside and in partnership with the Royal Automobile Club Concours on 8 July. Now in its second year, the Club Concours will once again be hosted in the spectacular grounds of the RAC’s countryside retreat in Epsom, just outside London—though this time guests will be treated to a live auction with a mouthwatering array of vintage, classic, and modern collector cars available for purchase.

Leading the early consignments to the sale is a very special 2018 Aston Martin DB4 GT Continuation, being the only example of Aston Martin’s limited-production Continuation series to replicate 1959 DB4 GT Prototype ‘DP199’. Priced at more than £1,500,000 when new, only a handful of these spectacular recreations were ever made, with this as-new example having covered just 183 miles since leaving the firm’s Newport Pagnell works. It is estimated at £650,000 – £850,000.

From the same stable comes a 1962 Aston Martin DB4 Series IV (Est: £320,000 – £370,000). Sold new to Viscount Downe and delivered with a desirable Special Series engine, a full restoration with RS Williams was commissioned in 2017, including fitment of the firm’s full-fat 4.7-litre engine.

The pre-war offering is headed by a 1932 Bentley 4/8-Litre Supercharged Two-Seater Sports, a magnificent and beautifully proportioned sportscar modelled after the Brooklands-era Old No. 1. Originally a Vanden Plas Drophead, it was rebuilt in the nineties with rakish new coachwork and a fire-breathing, supercharged 8-litre engine and is expected to fetch £450,000 – £650,000. Following it is a 1950 Bentley 3-4½-Litre ‘Special’ Tourer in the style of Vanden Plas (Est: £180,000 – £220,000), an attractive and storied 3-Litre-based special with competition history at Goodwood and Silverstone.

Sticking with the pre-war theme is a 1934 MG K3 Magnette Two-Seater ‘Pointed Tail’ Works—the first of its type to wear the two-seater pointed tail coachwork that would influence all subsequent stock K3s. The MG K3 is truly one of the great British competition cars, offering outstanding performance courtesy of its supercharged, six-cylinder engine, creating the high watermark for MG’s pre-war racing efforts and achieving many outstanding results in international competition. The car offered is the an ex-George Eyston Works car that was campaigned in the 1934 BRDC 500-Mile Race, the Nuffield Trophy, and even the 1935 Mille Miglia, and is expected to fetch £450,000 – £650,000. It is followed by a 1935 Frazer Nash TT Replica (Est: £180,000 – £260,000) with wonderful provenance, having been previously owned by former VSCC President, Tom Thelfall, and fettled by marque authority Blakeney Motorsport.

A 1976 Alfa Romeo Speciale by Autotecnica del Lario (Est: £250,000 – £350,000) belonging to celebrity chef James Martin illustrates the impressive depth of the Woodcote Park sale. The spectacular coachbuilt curiosity is one of only eight Alfa Romeos rebodied by the carrozzeria in the sixties and seventies and has just emerged from an exhaustive restoration that included the installation of a Zagato-inspired double bubble roof—perfect for the taller driver. Because Alfa Romeo ATLs rarely come to market, The Woodcote Park Auction presents an outstanding opportunity to acquire one these highly desirable, low production, artisan-produced specials.

The early consignments are rounded off by a UK-delivered, Fiorano Handling Pack-equipped 2006 Ferrari 575 Superamerica (Est: £175,000 – £225,000) finished in Nero Daytona over Nero leather and boasting a comprehensive service history, and a 1956 Lotus Eleven Series I (Est: £100,000 – £150,000) that was campaigned in period by ex-Lotus Works driver and 24 Hours of Le Mans entrant, Tommy Dickson.
