Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday condemned the attacks on the United Arab Emirates (UAE) amid the ongoing war in West Asia. “We condemn attacks on UAE. The way UAE has been targeted is not acceptable,” PM Modi said during the talks with UAE president Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The Prime Minister’s comments came as India and the UAE signed several Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) on his visit to Dubai. The two BRICs partners signed pacts on strategic defence cooperation, petroleum reserves and supply of liquefied petroleum gas, officials told news agency Reuters on Friday.

“The impact of West Asia conflict is being felt globally,” PM Modi said, adding that “India is ready to extend all possible support to bring peace.”
Since the US-Israeli war against Iran began on February 28, the UAE has borne the brunt of Iranian retaliatory drone and missile strikes. Until Washington and Tehran announced a ceasefire in early April, the country faced nearly 2,500 attacks, including around 500 ballistic missiles, 2,000 drones and more than two dozen cruise missiles.
