ROME—Pesky rain has taken over the Internazionali BNL d’Italia, jeopardizing the chances of Jannik Sinner and Daniil Medvedev completing their semifinal on Friday evening in Rome.
Sinner led 6-2, 5-7, 4-2, with Medvedev serving at ad-in when chair umpire Aurélie Tourte called for play to be suspended. The Italian had questioned the conditions, after missing a break point chance earlier in the game, resulting in a discussion with Tourte before the decision was made.
