“Their knowledge and dedication inspire me to work harder than ever, and I’m ready to put in the hard work,” the Pole said.
Hurkacz’s 2024 season was derailed when he suffered a torn meniscus in a second-round loss to Arthur Fils at Wimbledon, with the subsequent surgery forcing him out of the Olympics. His early-season highlights included a runner-up finish representing Poland with Iga Swiatek at the United Cup, a quarterfinal at the Australian Open, and his first career clay-court singles title in Estoril in April.
After rising to his career-high ranking in August, he dipped to a year-end perch of No. 16.
“I’m excited and optimistic for season 2025 and beyond,” Hurkacz added. “This has been a year of ups and downs; I’ve learned a lot and grown a lot, and I can finally say I am fully healthy and ready for the challenges ahead.”
Hurkacz is set to kick off his 2025 season by once again competing at the United Cup alongside Swiatek next month, in the aftermath of Thursday’s announcement that she tested positive for a banned substance earlier this year.
