Iga Swiatek took to social media on Monday to announce that she had parted ways with coach Wim Fissette, ending a two-year partnership following a second-round loss at the 2026 Miami Open.
“I’ve decided to take a different path,” wrote Swiatek. “It was an intense time full of challenges and many important experiences. I’m grateful for his support, experience, and everything we achieved together—including one of my biggest dreams in sport.
“Wim, thank you for this time and for the lessons I’ve learned thanks to you. I wish you all the best—both professionally and personally.”
Swiatek hired Fissette, a former coach of Grand Slam champions Kim Clijsters, Naomi Osaka, and Victoria Azarenka (among many others), back in 2024. Despite some inconsistencies, Swiatek nonetheless enjoyed great success under Fissette, including a maiden Wimbledon title last summer.
