New Zealand-born Jordan made 71 appearances for Glasgow during his three-and-a-half seasons at Scotstoun and was the only player to appear in every game of their URC title-winning campaign in 2023-24.

After qualifying for Scotland on residency, he made his Test debut as a full-back during last year’s Autumn Nations Series before switching to inside centre during the Six Nations to replace injured captain Sione Tuipulotu.

The 27-year-old, who has won nine caps, said he wanted to “challenge” himself in Prem Rugby by moving to a new city and team.

“Moving overseas already, coming to play in the UK, I want to see as much of the world and experience as much as I can while playing rugby,” Jordan said.

“It felt like a really good move for me and I just feel like it’s going to be a really good opportunity to grow as a person on and off the field. Getting that challenge is something I’m big on.”

Jordan joked it would be “interesting” to play opposite Scotland team-mate Finn Russell when the two meet in a Bristol-Bath derby, but that he was looking forward to “learning” off the other fly-halves in the league.

“There’s so many great 10s in the comp as well, which is probably another reason for coming down,” he said. “Learning off guys like that and analysing their games each week as well will be massive.

“It’s a comp that has a really good pedigree with players [and] should be a great learning experience.”

Bristol open their Prem Rugby campaign with a home fixture against Leicester a week on Sunday, 28 September.
