Aryna Sabalenka vs. Amanda Anisimova
🤜 Head to Head: Anisimova leads 6-4 ( 1-2 in 2025)
- Sabalenka d. Anisimova 6-3, 7-6(3)—US Open final
- Anisimova d. Sabalenka 6-4, 4-6, 6-4—Wimbledon semifinals
- Sabalenka d. Anisimova 7-5, 6-3—Roland Garros 4th round
Sabalenka is into her fourth consecutive WTA Finals semifinals after dispatching and eliminating defending champion, Coco Gauff, in her last match. The year-end No.1 has been untouchable in Riyadh, cruising through group play without dropping a set. A win will put her in the championship for the first time since 2022, with a shot at her first season-ending crown.
Anisimova has had a tougher path. She lost her opener to Rybakina and needed to claw back from a set down against Madison Keys before duplicating the feat in a win-or-go-home thriller against Iga Swiatek to make the semifinals in her first Finals.
The two are getting used to seeing the other in pressure-packed showdowns, having faced off in each of the last three Grand Slams. Sabalenka scored bookend wins at Roland Garros and the US Open final, with an Anisimova victory in the Wimbledon semis sandwiched in between.
Their rivalry has been a running story through the season—and it won’t be complete without one more blockbuster sequel.
