India Predicted Playing 11 2nd Test Match, Full Squad: Arshdeep Singh could finally make his debut in whites for India while Ravindra Jadeja could sit out for Washington Sundar in the second Test against England at Edgbaston. However, Kuldeep Yadav may have to warm the bench again with India prioritising batting depth. While their inability to find wickets on a pitch that was favouring the batters was a major reason for their downfall on the fifth day, Kuldeep’s lack of skills with the bat might just work against him once again at Edgbaston.
Jasprit Bumrah is likely to sit out the second Test and India could replace him with Arshdeep Singh. The latter could provide a left-arm option for India, which might just put him above Akash Deep in the pecking order. Meanwhile, Shardul Thakur could be made to sit out for Nitish Kumar Reddy.
Any changes in the batting order is highly unlikely. India had as many as four centurions in the first Test but Sai Sudharsan and Karun Nair didn’t impress. However, head coach Gautam Gambhir had said that the team will be giving a longer rope to players, specifically mentioned Karun while making the point.
