Bangladesh batter Sobhana Mostary has said that the team did not get sleep for four days after their narrow loss to Sri Lanka in Navi Mumbai on Monday. The 23-year-old said that the team management had tried to avoid speaking negatively inside the dressing room and tried to maintain positivity within the setup.

Chasing 203 for victory, Bangladesh endured a heartbreaking seven-run loss after being in prime position for a long time to seal only their second win of the tournament.

“After losing game next two days we are very hard and they are not sleeping right. Last four days we are not sleeping. Now our management also like they are not talking about any negative things. They are always talking about positive things. Like you are playing good. But maybe some mistake we create and we lose the game. So now we are is a good vibes. But like we have now won the one match and is number eight for raining. So is a very disappointing. But tomorrow is our game. Everyone is like a positive and go through that type of vibes,” Mostary said at the pre-match press conference on Saturday.

Mostary admitted that the skipper Nigar Sultana Joty had a very good influence on the younger members and was helping the players with regard to batting and bowling.

“Joty she captain like it’s awesome to us because we played a long time with her last 10 years and she is like a very cool guy. So, like in bowling time, you know everyone is juniors. Our team like 17, 20 Rabia 20 Nishita 17. Except Nahida. Nahida also discussing with Joty because they are playing together. So, I think in experience she coming and telling the way to ball and way to bat.”

“And she also come to us. So, before she come to us and telling – Shobhana – the world don’t know about you what you are. And Shorna also always she is speaking juniors and like seniors also like Pinky, every time she like it depends on Joty. Like Joty you talking good things to me then maybe I play good. So, Joty always like captain cool,” the batter said.

Mostary also said that Bangladesh would look to trouble the Indian batters with their strong spin bowling attack, adding that the team had spoken about how they rectify their errors with the bat.

“They are a good and strong team. But after losing the last match, we took almost two days’ break and then discussed how we could give our best since this is the last game of the tournament. We talked about how the batters could correct their mistakes so that they don’t repeat them in the next match. We have also played against India in Bangladesh before, so we have good experience. We will try to be attacking in our bowling and show strong batting performance,” she said.
