A versatile back who can cover centre and both wings, Ciaran Mangan is expected to cause plenty of problems for any opposition.
Credited for his electric pace on the ball, accompanied with a strong work ethic, Mangan has also found himself in the centre of the park for AIL Division 1B side Blackrock College.
This type of flexibility might be of use to Doak, who may look to deploy a player of Mangan’s quality across the backline, rather than tying him to one position.
Another product of the Leinster Academy, Ciaran faced his older brother Diarmuid in a final warm-up game against Leinster ‘A’ ahead of Doak’s squad announcement.
Diarmuid, who has featured for the Leinster senior team over the past two seasons, was involved with the under-20s side who won back to back Grand Slams in 2022 and 2023.
