Fresh off a national runner-up finish last season, Texas A&M is the preseason No. 1 team in the land in the preseason D1Baseball Top 25 rankings, for the first time in the 11-year history of the rankings.
The Aggies, who finished last season with a 53-15 overall record, return almost every key piece from last year’s team, including premier prospect and outfielder Jace LaViolette. Uniquely, the Aggies also usher in a new head coach in 36-year-old skipper Michael Earley.
Joining the Aggies in the Top 25 are eight more teams from the Southeastern Conference. Defending national champion Tennessee enters the 2025 campaign ranked No. 4, while LSU is the second-highest-ranked SEC team at No. 3, right behind No. 2 Virginia. Arkansas, Georgia and Florida also enter the spring as top 10 teams in our rankings.

While the SEC leads the way with nine teams in the Top 25 rankings, the ACC comes in strong as well with seven representatives, including Virginia, North Carolina and Florida State as Top 10 teams. Duke, NC State, Wake Forest and Clemson are just outside the top 10.
The new-look Big 12 Conference has three teams in the rankings: Oklahoma State at 17, newly minted conference member Arizona at 21, and TCU at 23. Meanwhile, the Big Ten has two teams with Oregon leading the way at No. 12, while the Sun Belt, Conference USA and Big West each have a single representative. Oregon State, an independent, also is in the rankings, entering the season at No. 7.
