The security presence was heightened in Bihar’s Kaimur after an alleged incident of stone pelting at a counting centre during the Assembly polls.
The Kaimur Police took to its X handle and said that it was “fully active and alert to ensure the counting of votes for the Bihar Legislative Assembly Elections 2025 is conducted in a fair and peaceful environment, as well as to maintain strict security arrangements and strengthen law and order”.

BSP levels allegations
The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) levelled allegations of improper vote counting. In a social media post, it said: “Even after winning the Ramgarh seat in Kaimur, the administration seems determined to reverse the people’s verdict. We secured victory by 123 votes—then mysteriously, votes were deducted. Yet, even after manipulation, the margin stood at 38 votes. But the victory certificate is still being withheld. This isn’t an isolated incident. In the last election, we were defeated by just 161 votes in a suspicious recount. Now, the same script is being replayed—again, in broad daylight. @ECISVEEP — this isn’t just rigging. This is the slow murder of democracy.”
The BSP managed to win a solitary seat in the Bihar Assembly polls. This victory came in Ramgarh where its candidate Satish Kumar Singh Yadav won by a margin of 30 votes, according to the latest data on the Election Commission website.

Bihar vote counting
The vote counting was held on Friday, November 11 where the National Democratic Alliance decimated the opposition Mahagathbandhan led by the Rashtriya Janata Dal and the Congress.
While the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) cornered 89 seats, alliance partner Janata Dal (United) of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar bagged 85 seats.
The opposition alliance cut a sorry figure with the RJD managing 25 seats and the Indian National Congress limited to only six seats.
