In a hard-fought clash between former Top 10 players, Stefanos Tsitsipas battled past Karen Khachanov in three sets in the second round in Dubai on Wednesday night, 7-6 (4), 2-6, 6-4.
With that victory, Tsitsipas maintained his record of never falling before the quarterfinals at the ATP 500 event—he was a quarterfinalist in 2018, a finalist in 2019 (falling to Roger Federer), a finalist in 2020 (falling to Novak Djokovic) and now at least a quarterfinalist in 2025.
And there’s more: Tsitsipas’ victory against the former world No. 8 was the milestone 350th tour-level win of his career.
He’s the first man born in 1998 or later to hit that number.
