Hours after IAF chief Air Chief Marshal A P Singh’s statement, the BJP Saturday lashed out at Lok Sabha LoP Rahul Gandhi and the Congress, saying that when the Armed Forces personnel sacrifice their lives for the nation’s security, “parties like Rahul Gandhi and Congress, driven by their hunger for power, never hesitate to insult the Army, from surgical strikes to Operation Sindoor”.
Accusing Gandhi, his party, and their “arrogant alliance” of having “hurt the soul of the nation” and “speaking the language of the enemy”, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said on X, “This is not just politics, but proof of an anti-national mindset. Their sinister intentions are continuously being exposed before the nation.”
Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma said the IAF chief’s statement should put the Congress to shame for “pushing the Pakistani narrative”. In a post on X, Sarma said, “First, their leaders peddled lies on India’s losses whereas we now have quantifiable, detailed and irrefutable proof of the wrath inflicted upon the enemy,” he said. “Second, they ran another Pak-originated disinformation campaign claiming the Modi Govt put restrictions on the operational capability of our forces. This too has been debunked comprehensively,” he said.
