The Ministry of External Affairs on Tuesday advised Indian citizens to defer travel to Nepal until the situation stabilises.
In a statement, the MEA urged Indians currently in Nepal to shelter at their residences, avoid venturing out, and follow local safety advisories as well as guidance from the Embassy of India in Kathmandu.
“In view of the developing situation in Nepal, Indian citizens are advised to defer travel there until the situation has stabilised,” the MEA said in a statement.
“Indian citizens presently in Nepal are advised to shelter in their current places of residence, avoid going out onto the streets and exercise all due caution,” it added, advising citizens to follow local safety advisories for the Embassy and local authorities.
