Parker Ross & Dilan Schwartz Look to Seize the Moment in 250SMX

MURRIETA, CA – September 4, 2025 – (Motor Sports NewsWire) – With a new manufacturer partner and athlete lineup brimming with young talent, Toyota Redlands BarX Yamaha has enjoyed a season of progression during the 2025 SMX World Championship Series. A solid regular season across the AMA Supercross Championship and AMA Pro Motocross Championship saw the team emerge as a contender in the 250SMX division, from which Parker Ross and Dilan Schwartz each secured automatic bids into the postseason. Now, the pair of California natives will carry the torch for the team into the three-race SMX World Championship Playoffs, which kick off this weekend from zMAX Dragway in Concord, North Carolina.

#302 Parker Ross  //  #18 Seed – 250SMX

After a solid regular season, the promising rookie campaign for Parker Ross continues as he enters the SMX Playoffs as the 18th seed in the 250SMX division.

Ross joined the team a little over a week before the start of the Pro Motocross Championship, having completed his debut season in Supercross where he qualified for seven 250SX West Region Main Events, with a best result of ninth and a 13th-place finish in the standings. From the moment he interacted with the team and threw his leg over the Yamaha YZ250F for the first time, Ross was a natural fit, which allowed him to grow even further as a racer. His rookie outdoor campaign saw him tap into his potential on many occasions, highlighted by five top 10 moto finishes and a career-best eighth overall at the RedBud National. Ross finished the summer 18th in the 250 Class standings and runner-up for Rookie of the Year, but more importantly, he also secured 18th place in the SMX regular season standings.

With a strong foundation to build from in his first full season of professional competition, Ross will embark on his first SMX postseason with nothing to lose and everything to gain. The hybrid track designs are poised to be favorable to Ross’ skillset and raw speed, while the two-moto format should favor his grit, determination, and elite fitness.

#44 Dilan Schwartz  //  #19 Seed – 250SMX

Despite some early setbacks, Dilan Schwartz persevered to capture a well-deserved spot in the SMX Playoffs as the 19th seed in the 250SMX division.

Schwartz’s journey to the SMX Playoffs may have been more stressful than he would have liked, but the end result was worth the effort. A broken hand before the start of Supercross put Schwartz on an uphill climb from the outset of the season and ultimately resulted in just one Main Event during the 250SX West Region. He rejoined the field for Pro Motocross and reacclimated himself into the mix almost immediately with two top 10 overalls in the first three races. Adversity struck at times during the summer, but Schwartz never wavered in his relentless pursuit of success. A season filled with ups and downs culminated with a career-best fourth place moto finish at Washougal, which led to a season-best sixth overall. Collectively, Schwartz amassed top 10 overall results at five rounds and completed the summer 12th in the 250 Class standings. More importantly, his ability to fight through it all allowed him to overcome a lost Supercross season and leverage his Pro Motocross success to finish 19th in the SMX regular season standings.

Much like his teammate, Schwartz has nothing to lose heading into the SMX Playoffs. Many would consider him fortunate to simply be one of the automatic seeds, but his position inside the top 20 is a testament to his incredible resilience and underrated talent. Make no mistake, Schwartz earned his chance to compete in the postseason and his past experience in the Playoffs will surely work in his favor.

The action from SMX World Championship Playoff 1 at zMAX Dragway gets underway this Friday, September 5, with free practice and the Friday FanZone where attendees can meet Parker and Dilan while also getting an up-close look at the Toyota Redlands BarX Yamaha team at work prepping the bikes. Race Day gets underway on Saturday, September 6, with morning qualifying sessions and a pair of motos in the afternoon.
