England international Tom Willis has been named player of the match in both Saracens’ victories so far – a 39-17 win at Newcastle Red Bulls and a 50-17 demolition of Bristol Bears last weekend.
The 26-year-old back row has eight caps for the Red Rose, including five in this year’s Six Nations Championship.
“He’s had a brilliant 15 months really, slightly on the outside of that England squad probably at the start of last year,” McCall said.
“He’s worked really hard at his game and really hard on his fitness and footwork.
“There are so many things that tie up to what you see on a Saturday. He’s improved everything. He obviously does a lot of eye-catching carrying and that’s his difference.
“But he’s improved every area of his game. He’s full of confidence at the moment.”
