Perhaps the biggest news is Daniil Medvedev entering the Top 15, jumping from No. 20 to No. 15 after another strong showing in China. Since his disappointing first-round exit at the US Open, the former No. 1 has now reached the quarterfinals in Hangzhou, the semifinals in Beijing and now another semifinal in Shanghai.

RACE TO THE ATP FINALS, TOP 15 (after Shanghai, players qualified in bold):

  • No. 1: Carlos Alcaraz—11,040 points
  • No. 2: Jannik Sinner—8,500 points
  • No. 3: Novak Djokovic—4,580 points [+1]
  • No. 4: Alexander Zverev—4,280 points [-1]
  • No. 5: Taylor Fritz—3,835 points
  • No. 6: Ben Shelton—3,720 points
  • No. 7: Alex de Minaur—3,545 points
  • No. 8: Lorenzo Musetti—3,435 points
  • No. 9: Jack Draper—2,990 points
  • No. 10: Felix Auger-Aliassime—2,905 points
  • No. 11: Casper Ruud—2,495 points
  • No. 12: Holger Rune—2,490 points [+2]
  • No. 13: Andrey Rublev—2,420 points [-1]
  • No. 14: Alexander Bublik—2,380 points [-1]
  • No. 15: Daniil Medvedev—2,360 points [+5]

Note: Jack Draper, who’s currently at No. 9 on the race standings, ended his season after the US Open due to an arm injury, so Auger-Aliassime is effectively first out from the Top 8.
