INDIANAPOLIS, IN – August 2, 2025 – (Motor Sports NewsWire) – In less than a month, the first Summit Racing Series E.T. Finals takes place, kicking off E.T. Finals season, where the top drivers in the NHRA Summit Series will race for a chance to compete for a world championship.
The Summit Racing Series E.T. Finals kick off in Division 4 on Aug. 15-17 at the Texas Motorplex in Dallas, the first of eight E.T. Finals to take place over two months in every NHRA division and Canada, all with the opportunity to race for the NHRA Summit Racing Series World Championship, which takes place Oct. 30-Nov. 2 at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway as part of the NHRA Nevada Nationals.
Heading into the key part of the season, NHRA also announced that it will continue its license transfer program, which offers racers the opportunity to transfer their licenses to NHRA from other sanctioning bodies with a limited-time discount during August for one- and two-year licenses.
With a significant increase in purse for the Summit Racing Series World Championship – along with team competitions and unique opportunities for competitors – now is a perfect time for drivers to get involved at their local track. Transferring a license to NHRA allows racers to compete at more than 110 Member Tracks across North America – including 12 facilities added this past off-season.
A NHRA license also gives competitors a comprehensive list of perks, including:
- Excess medical insurance coverage of $600,000 at your NHRA Member Track.
- An Official NHRA Competition License Card.
- Exclusive discounts with NHRA partners like Summit Racing Equipment, which offers a 20 percent discount for NHRA members, a 15 percent off first-time purchases at Cordova Coolers, Right Trailers, Speedmaster, Racing Electronics, WELD Racing Wheels, ABRO, Crocodile Cloth, Mechanix Wear, Stormin Normin’s Nitro Pickles, GEN-Y Hitches, Harvest Host and others.
- A 25% off discount for NHRA.tv, which streams live championship drag racing action at NHRA national events and divisional events across the country.
- NHRA National Dragster Magazine online.
A total of 32 winners from the eight Summit Racing E.T. Finals in Super Pro, Pro, Sportsman and Motorcycle will compete for ultimate glory in Las Vegas. The annual event, which pits the top drivers in the NHRA Summit Series from the United States and Canada, will now award winners $6,000 in each category and award the runner-up and semifinalists for the first time. The runner-up in each class earns $2,000, with semifinalists earning $500.
The first-time team competition will include all seven NHRA divisions and a Canadian team, where team points are accumulated by round wins and the winning team earns $2,000. There will also be $1,000 of bonus awards during the weekend, along with these special experiences being raffled off during the welcome dinner for the 32 finalists hosted by Summit Racing Equipment on Thursday, Oct. 30:
