INDIANAPOLIS — The NCAA Division II Men’s Basketball Committee announced today the field of 64 teams that will compete in the 2026 NCAA Division II Men’s Basketball Championship.
Twenty-three conferences have been awarded automatic qualification. The remaining 41 teams were selected at large by the committee. Eight teams in each region were selected to make up the field of 64 teams and nullification impacted selections.
Seven of the eight regional tournaments, consisting of eight teams each, will be played at on- campus sites March 14, 15 and 17 while one regional tournament also consisting of eight teams will be conducted March 13, 14 and 16. The eight regional champions will advance to the quarterfinals in
conjunction with the 2026 NCAA Division II Men’s Elite Eight. The quarterfinal and semifinal games will be held March 25 and 27 at the UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse in Pittsburgh. Pennsylvania Western University, Clarion and SportsPITTSBURGH will serve as hosts.
The championship game will be contested on April 5 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis in conjunction with the NCAA Men’s Final Four.
The quarterfinals and semifinals of the Division II Men’s Basketball Championship will be carried on ESPN+, while the championship will be carried on CBS.

Nova Southeastern defeated Cal State Dominguez Hills 74-73 to win the 2025 NCAA Division II Men’s Basketball Championship in Evansville, Indiana.
