Amritsar-Purnia Court Jan Sewa Express Fire Incident: The fire on the Amritsar–Purnia Court Jan Sewa Express was caused by a mobile phone blast while charging. The incident occurred at around 6:10 pm near Sonbarsa Kachahari station in Saharsa district, Bihar. The blaze was soon brought under control and no casualties have been reported so far.
Speaking to IndianExpress.com, a senior railway official said that the fire occurred after a passenger’s mobile phone blasted while it was being charged.
“Fire in train no. 14618 from Amritsar to Purnia Court at 18:10 in GS coach at Sonbarsa Kachahari near Saharsha in SPJ division.
A passenger named Ram Kr has confessed that fire occurred due to his mobile blasted while in charging. and Co passengers have also agreed. Fire extinguished,” the official told Indianexpress.com.
Fire incident on Amritsar–Saharsa Garib Rath Express train
Last week, A fire was detected in a coach of train number 12204 Amritsar–Saharsa Garib Rath Express. The incident occurred at Sirhind Station in Punjab, which comes under the jurisdiction of the Northern Railway zone. However, no casualty reported in the incident.
According to railway officials, the fire was noticed around 07:30 hrs today. Railway authorities promptly took action, shifting passengers to other coaches and quickly extinguishing the fire.
“As soon as incident was noticed, swinging into action, Railway authorities shifted the passengers immediately to the other coaches and the fire was also extinguished quickly. The train will depart to its destination shortly. No casualties. Time of incident 7.30am,” the national transporter said in a statement.

It further stated that one passenger suffered a minor injury and is currently receiving treatment at a hospital. “All concerned officials are present at the spot. An inquiry into the incident has been ordered,” the railways said.
