The minor son of a former Rajasthan minister allegedly drove an Audi and rammed it into three cars in Jaipur, leaving two people injured.
According to sources, the minister’s son was accompanied by two others in the car at the time of the incident, which took place at around 2 pm on Tuesday at the NRI Circle in the Pratap Nagar police station area of Jaipur.
SHO Rajendra Sharma of the Pratap Nagar police station told The Indian Express that an FIR was registered against the accused.
Sources in the police department said that an FIR was only registered after Police Commissioner Biju George Joseph’s intervention. The FIR was registered under sections 281 (rash or negligent driving) and 125(A) (rash or negligent acts endangering life or safety) of the BNS.
One of the injured, Pulkit Pareek, a resident of Indira Gandhi Nagar, filed a complaint. Pulkit and his friend, Surbhi, a resident of Ramnagariya, were travelling from NRI Circle to Thakuriya Hospital when their car was allegedly hit from behind by the minister’s son’s speeding car.
Speaking to The Indian Express, the former minister expressed shock at the incident. “I have received information about the incident and was shocked to know that it took place. We are cooperating with the police and have also spoken to the victims. We will follow all legal procedures in the matter,” he said.
