WALWORTH, WI – August 11, 2025 – (Motor Sports NewsWire) – Mecum Auctions’ annual Monterey auction is set to return to the peninsula during the prestigious Monterey Car Week. The auction will take place August 14-16, 2025, at Del Monte Golf Course and feature a lineup of an estimated 600 vehicles including six private collections. On display at the auction will be the headliner for Kissimmee 2026: Bianco Speciale, the only factory-white 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO. Mecum Monterey 2025 will be live on ESPN+ on Friday and Saturday, starting at 11 a.m. PT each day and streamed live in its entirety on Mecum.com and Mecum’s YouTube channel.
Headlining the Monterey auction are three red rarities, all crossing the block on Saturday, August 16. The first is a pair of Ferrari’s finest: a one-of-122 1971 Ferrari 365 GTS/4 Daytona Spider finished in the iconic Rossa Chiaro and a Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance-winning 1951 Ferrari 212 Export Touring Barchetta. Following the Ferraris is a domestic darling: a 1969 Dodge Hemi Daytona NASCAR that was previously piloted by Hall-of-Fame driver Bobby Allen.
Also heading for Monterey are six collections showcasing a variety of vehicles. The Destin Car Collection is made up of modern supercars ranging from a Special Wishes custom-tailored 2019 Porsche 911 GT2 RS Coupe to a 2021 Mercedes-Benz GT Black Series Coupe with just 52 miles on the odometer, and all are selling at no-reserve. The Hertz Collection showcases the entire six decades of partnership between Hertz and Shelby with vehicles ranging from a 1966 Shelby GT350H Fastback to a 2022 Ford Shelby GT-H. Presenting a parade of classics is the J&L Collection, which comprises prewar showstoppers, midcentury glamor and classic muscle cars, including a 1932 Duesenberg Model J Sweep Panel Dual Cowl Phaeton, a one-of-222 1970 Plymouth Road Runnerand a 1969 Mercedes-Benz 560SL Convertible.
Among other highlights slated to cross the block at Mecum Monterey is an impressive lineup of rare and low-production vehicles. A 1971 Chevrolet Corvette LS6 Convertible, one of only 50 Corvette LS6 convertibles produced, will cross the block on Saturday, August 16, showing just 29,889 miles on the odometer. Mixing American muscle with Italian style is a 1987 DeTomaso Pantera, which is one of 38 U.S.-spec examples produced. Presenting prewar history on full display is a 1932 Packard 905 Twin Six Coupe Roadster—one of 311 Twin Six cars built on the Series 905 142-inch wheelbase chassis. The variety of Ferraris is unmatched and encompasses three Dinos, including the record-breaking 1973 Ferrari Dino 246 GTS, which won the 1975 Cannonball Run, and a 1972 Ferrari Dino 246 GT, whose proceeds will benefit Homes For Our Troops. Mecum Monterey offers a lineup that is unique from any other Mecum auction. From exceptional customs, including a Gene Winfield custom-built 1959 Cadillac Kad-A-Mino, to the early age of Porsches with a 1955 Porsche 356 Pre-A Speedster.
In addition to the exceptional lineup of classic and collector cars, the best motorcycles at Car Week will be at Mecum Monterey as well. Headliners include an extremely rare one-of-four 1954 BSA A7 Shooting Star Daytona Race Bike, an antique 1910 Harley-Davidson 6-A Single and a 1959 Harley-Davidson FL Duo-Glide seen in the movie “The Loveless,” to name a few.
