Maharashtra Municipal Corporation Election Results 2026 LIVE Updates: Polling came to a close on Thursday evening for the Maharashtra municipal corporation elections, with candidates across 29 civic bodies in the state in fray. Counting of votes will commence at 10 am tomorrow.
Voter turnout across 29 civic bodies: Voting across all the municipal bodies, including Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) and Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC), ended peacefully with no untoward incidents. Till 3.30 pm, the voter turnout across the state stood at 46-50 percent, State Election Commissioner Dinesh Waghmare told PTI. As at 3:30pm, Kolhapur led with a voter turnout of 50.85 per cent. It was 41.08 per cent in Mumbai, 36.95 per cent in Pune, 41.23 per cent in Nagpur, 43.67 per cent in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and 39.64 percent in Nashik.

First civic body polls since 2017: These are the first civic body elections in Maharashtra since 2017, and the results are set to be declared on January 16, Friday. Voting for all the municipal corporation elections began early at 7:30 am on Thursday amid tight security, and ended at 5:30 pm. All eyes remain on on India’s richest civic body — the BMC — with as many as 1,729 candidates contesting its 227 seats.
