The hottest ticket in town during tennis’ offseason wasn’t a beach in Dubai, or a villa in the Maldives, but an invite to Madison Keys and Bjorn Fratangelo’s wedding, held on Saturday in Charleston, S.C.
The 2017 US Open finalist Keys and Fratangelo, the former junior Roland Garros winner and ATP world No. 99 who stepped away from consistent competitive play to coach her, started dating in 2017 and got engaged last year. The couple, who live together in Orlando, subsequently tied the knot in front of family and friends, and as it turned out, more than a fair few ATP and WTA players in the Lowcountry, who dutifully chronicled all the fun had on social media.
Among the attendees? Current tour players Jennifer Brady, Desirae Krawczyk, Mitchell Krueger, Jessica Pegula, Sloane Stephens and Taylor Townsend, plus retired players Kristie Ahn, Irina Falconi and Laura Robson.
