Former West Indies cricketer, now a T20 specialist, Kieron Pollard rolled back the years and muscled his way to a blazing half-century, which included seven sixes in eight deliveries. Playing for the Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2025 match against the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots in Trinidad, Pollard played a hard-hitting knock, scoring a 29-ball 65, which included eight sixes and two fours.
Pollard’s acceleration was such that TKR, who were struggling in the middle overs and had scored just 99 in 14 overs, reached 143 by the end of the 16th over.
The slam-bang hitting from Pollard started in the 15th over against Navian Bidaisee when Pollard — playing on 12 off 13 at this point — dispatched the third and fourth deliveries for sixes before playing a dot. He ended the over with another six to score 19 off that over. In the following over, skipper Nicholas Pooran grabbed a single after starting the over with a dot, and then came Pollard, who sent the remaining four balls over the boundary for four consecutive sixes — making it seven sixes in eight deliveries.

Pollard, who became only the second batter after compatriot Chris Gayle to score 14,000 T20 runs last week, registered his half-century in just 21 balls.
The innings helped TKR get to a strong total of 179 in 20 overs, and they eventually won the match by 12 runs.
The 38-year-old said he is taking good care of his body, which helps him perform at the highest level at this stage. “Just been taking care of my body. In 2012 and 2015 I had two ACL injuries, since then I have been taking good care of my body. I have been taking a trainer with me on all tours since then. Just goes to show what can be achieved if you take good care of your body,” said during the innings break.
Speaking on the acceleration, he said: “The scoreboard and the bowling changes dictate when you need to attack. With the make-up of their team, we knew they would have to keep bowling spin and that would give us a chance to attack. I took a couple of overs to consolidate, but then wanted to attack. With the left-right combination, we always had a shorter side.”
Pollard said he is here to enjoy his cricket. “I wouldn’t say this is the form of my life. I’ve been here for 20 years and more. But it’s a moment where I continue to just enjoy cricket at this stage and try to give the fans, my family, and the people close to me something to share. I obviously play each ball on its merit. You look at the situation of the game and the bowlers who are coming,” he said after the match.
