Fonseca joins a crop of blossoming newcomers in Jakub Mensik, Shang Juncheng, Learner Tien and Nishesh Basavareddy. Mensik posted four Top 10 victories across his season, while Shang celebrated his maiden ATP trophy on home soil in Chengdu when he knocked off Lorenzo Musetti.
Tien surged up the rankings into the Top 125 by winning three ATP Challenger Tour crowns. Fellow 2005-born American Basavareddy also picked up a pair of Challenger trophies to crack the Top 150 himself.
