India U19 clinched the five-match series on Saturday on the back of a sensational innings from Suryavanshi in a 55-run win. Suryavanshi shattered the Youth ODI record for the fastest century, reaching three figures in just 52 balls against England. The knock included 10 sixes and 13 fours en route to 143 off 78 deliveries, surpassing Pakistan’s Kamran Ghulam’s 2019 record of 53 balls. Coming off an 86-run display in his previous game where he hit nine sixes, the 14-year-old’s aggressive batting has drawn high praise from former India coach Ravi Shastri, who believes Suryavanshi could soon be fast-tracked into the national team.
