A day after the Enforcement Directorate, which is probing an alleged money laundering case linked to a land deal in Gurgaon’s Shikohpur, filed a chargesheet naming Robert Vadra, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi said Friday that it is a continuation of a “witch hunt”.
The chargesheet was filed a day after the Central agency attached 43 immovable properties linked to Robert Vadra, and his entities, including Sky Light Hospitality Pvt Ltd, and others.
“My brother-in-law has been hounded by this government for the last ten years. This latest chargesheet is a continuation of that witch hunt. I stand with Robert, Priyanka and their children as they face yet another onslaught of malicious, politically motivated slander and harassment,” Rahul Gandhi said in a post on X.
“I know that they are all brave enough to withstand any kind of persecution and they will continue to do so with dignity. The truth will eventually prevail,” he added.

In a statement Thursday, Vadra’s office maintained that the present proceedings were “nothing more than an extension of the political witch hunt by the present government” against Vadra.
The ED, an official said, after completing its investigation, filed a prosecution complaint in the Rouse Avenue Courts against 11 individuals and entities. Officials said Vadra, his entities, Satyanand Yajee and Kewal Singh Virk, including their entity Onkareshwar Properties Pvt Ltd, have been arrayed as accused.
K C Venugopal, senior Congress leader and general secretary in charge (Organisation), also extended support to Vadra after the chargesheet. “It seems the Modi-Shah duo has given the ED a monthly assignment to go after the Congress senior leadership and their family. The latest ED action against Mr. Robert Vadra is pure political vendetta — yet another futile attempt at intimidation,” the Congress MP said in a post on X Thursday.
