IMD India Weather Forecast Today Live News Updates: The pilgrimage to Kedarnath was suspended temporarily Thursday following a landslide triggered by heavy rains at Munkatiya near Sonprayag en route to the Himalayan temple. According to police, the road has been completely blocked by debris and stones at the Munkatiya sliding zone, prompting the administration to halt the yatra. Some pilgrims returning from Gaurikund were trapped in the sliding zone but were rescued by the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF).
Heavy Rain in Himachal Pradesh: The India Meteorological Department predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall in Himachal Pradesh — while it also issued an orange alert for today and flash-flood warnings over the next 24 hours. The state witnessed 11 cloudburst incidents, four flash floods and a major landslide on Tuesday, most of them in Mandi district, disrupting normal life.
Delhi Weather: The capital recorded a minimum temperature of 27.7 degrees Celsius, with the weather department predicting rain along with thunderstorms. The relative humidity was 79 per cent at 8.30 am and the maximum temperature is expected to settle at 36 degrees Celsius. Delhi’s Air Quality Index (AQI) stood at 70, which falls in the ‘satisfactory’ category, at 9 am, according to Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) data.
