Ghaziabad railway station latest update: Indian Railways (IR) has completed the platform widening work at Ghaziabad railway station. The move will ensure smoother passenger movement during peak hours, and improve overall safety, comfort and operational efficiency at one of the busiest junctions in the country. This railway station falls under the administrative control of Northern Railway‘s Delhi Division.
Platform widening work at Ghaziabad station
According to the railways, a planned project for widening of platforms was undertaken to improve passenger movement and safety. “The work has now been completed successfully and within the stipulated timeline. The widening of Platform (PF) No. 5/6 and PF No. 3/4 has been carried out to enhance capacity and provide better convenience to rail users,” the national transporter said in a statement.
Ghaziabad railway station news: Details of the works completed
Platform No. 5/6
- Width increased by approximately 4.0 metres in the middle portion of the platform.
- Width increased by about 1.5 metres at the end portion.
- The widening covers over a total length of 300 metres.
Platform No. 3/4
- Width increased by about 4.0 metres in the middle portion.
- Width increased by approximately 2.0 metres at the end portion.
- The widening has been carried out for a length of around 200 metres.
