Is Frances Tiafoe saying, “Go Birds!” at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden? Sort of, thanks to Tommy Paul.
The No. 14 seed hit the practice court on Day 1 of the ATP Masters 1000 event of Wednesday, and in between hugging it out with Donna Vekic and Pam Shriver, the two-time US Open semifinalist was also sporting a head-scratching accessory: a Philadelphia Eagles cap, the fierce rivals of his favored Washington Commanders.
Though the cap paired nicely with his green Lululemon practice gear and Yonex tennis bag, Tiafoe was quick to tell fans that his NFL loyalties haven’t changed a bit with a short post on X, formerly Twitter.
“Commanders fan for life,” he wrote. “Lost a bet to Tommy Paul.”
