Congress released its second list of candidates for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections, announcing names for five constituencies – Narkatiaganj, Kishanganj, Kasba, Purnia and Gaya Town.
As per the list, Shaswat Kedar Pandey will contest from Narkatiaganj, while Qamrul Hoda has been fielded from Kishanganj. Irfan Alam, Jitender Yadav and Mohan Shrivasta will contest from Kasba, Purnia and Gaya Town respectively.

Congress had released its first list of candidates on October 17 of 48 candidates.
The Mahagathbandhan which includes the RJD and Congress has been unable to finalise a seat-sharing arrangement for the first phase of polling. Partners of the alliance filed nomination papers for all 121 seats going to polls in the first phase – the total strength of the Bihar House is 243. The last date for filing nominations for the remaining 122 seats in the second phase is Monday.
On the other hand, the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) announced that it will contest the Bihar polls independently. JMM general secretary and spokesperson Supriyo Bhattacharya said the party will contest six seats — Dhamdaha, Chakai, Katoria, Manihari, Jamui and Pirpainti.
Polling for the Bihar elections will take place in two phases, on November 6 and 11, and the results will be declared on November 14.
