Gold Rate Today: Ahead of Dhanteras and Diwali, the gold rates in India are at an all-time high, with the price of the yellow metal reaching historic highs at the start of October, driven by concerns over a potential US government shutdown, which led to increased demand for safe-haven assets.
However, as of today, October 17, Friday, gold prices have shown an upward trend, with the price standing at: 24K gold at ₹13,277 per gram, 22K gold at ₹12,170 per gram, and 18K at ₹9,958 per gram.
The yellow metal is considered an ideal inflation hedge, with 24-carat gold being the most expensive form of gold and commonly used for investment purposes, while 22-carat gold and 18-carat gold are primarily utilised for jewellery.
