Boston U vs. Harvard: Live updates for 2025 Women’s Beanpot semifinal

With a 2-1 overtime win against Boston University in 2024, Northeastern won its second women’s Beanpot in a row, and its third in four years.

With 19 tournament championships since 1979, the Huskies are the winningest of the four teams that compete in the women’s Beanpot each year.

Northeastern will look to continue its dominance in 2025 as the Huskies chase their third tournament win in a row, and their 20th all-time.

The 46th women’s Beanpot is set to begin Jan. 14 at Northeastern University’s Matthews Arena, with the four women’s NC hockey programs in the Boston area facing off.

In 1979, Northeastern defeated Boston College in the first-ever women’s Beanpot. The tournament (and women’s collegiate hockey) has grown considerably since then, and last year, it moved to TD Garden for the first time ever.

In 2024, Northeastern defeated Boston University 2-1 (OT) to win its second championship in a row, and its third in four years.
