Congress releases first list: The Congress late on Thursday released its first list of 48 names, hours before the end of the deadline to file nominations for 121 seats voting in the first phase. The most striking name on the list was of Amit Giri from Nautan (West Champaran). Till recently, Giri was associated with the RSS and is said to be close to BJP West Champaran MP Sanjay Jaiswal. The Opposition, Mahagathbandhan, is yet to arrive at a seat-sharing deal, which is causing the delay in the announcement of the candidates’ lists.
