As a junior, Frances Tiafoe looked up to Kudla as a source of inspiration after watching someone from the same community break into the Top 100 and compete on the Grand Slam stage. Tiafoe, now a two-time US Open semifinalist, paid tribute to the former world No. 53 by crediting him for paving the way.
“I really appreciate you bro, More than can ever imagine. You truly helped me believe that being a pro can be a reality,” he published. “Thanks for giving me game and support as a youngin and still to this day. Nothing but love for you baldhead Kudla.”
