After securing her place in her second final of 2025 at the ATX Open in Austin on Saturday, the world No. 4 admitted she enjoyed getting to put on a show for the A-list actor, and a fixture at tennis events, seated in the front row.
It took long enough, she joked, saying she was “finally” happy to run into the star.
“I know he’s always supporting a lot of sporting events … I always see him tweeting at Tommy Paul, so maybe now I’ll get an at-shoutout, maybe,” she quipped after beating Ajla Tomljanovic in three sets.
The Academy Award winner came good on his promise a short while later, posting on X, formerly Twitter: “I hear you @JPegula. See you in the finals tomorrow at ATX.”
