NEW YORK—The start of the US Open men’s final between world No. 1 Jannik Sinner and world No. 2 Carlos Alcaraz has been pushed back by 30 minutes, tournament officials announced on Sunday.
The match, originally scheduled for 2 p.m. ET at Arthur Ashe Stadium, will now begin at 2:30 p.m. due to heightened security measures at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. Fans reported long lines and additional screening as a result of the changes.
“As as result of the security measures in place, and to ensure that fans have additional time to get to their seats, we have pushed the start time of today’s match to 2:30 p.m. ET,” the USTA said in a statement.

Among the high-profile guests attending the final is U.S. President Donald J. Trump, confirmed by the USTA. He is expected to watch the match from an undisclosed location along with Pam Bondi, Arabella Kushner, Dan Scavino, Jared Kushner, Karoline Leavitt, Lindsey Halligan, Scott Bessent and Steve Witkoff.
Sunday marks the third Grand Slam final meeting of the year between Alcaraz and Sinner. Alcaraz won a five-set thriller at Roland Garros, while Sinner responded with a victory at Wimbledon.
