Emma Raducanu is joining peers including Jack Draper, Daria Kasatkina and Elina Svitolina in packing it in for 2025. Per media reports from the British press on Thursday, Raducanu has withdrawn from upcoming tournaments in Hong Kong and Tokyo to effectively end her season.
Illness undercut Raducanu’s efforts in recent weeks, where she first lost a pair of dramatic three-set matches after holding match points: first against Barbora Krejcikova in Seoul, and next against Jessica Pegula in Beijing.
She then went 0-2 for the rest of the Asian swing, losing her first-round match in Wuhan and Ningbo with health issues. On a hot and humid day in Wuhan, she retired against Ann Li with the American ahead 6-1, 4-1, and lost 4-6, 6-3, 6-1 to China’s Zhu Lin in Ningbo. Against Zhu, a former Top 40 player now ranked No. 219, Raducanu needed a medical timeout when she was 4-3 down in the second set and again when she was trailing 2-1 in the final set.

But in more positive news for the 2021 US Open champion, she plans to continue her working relationship with coach Francisco Roig in 2026.
