Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha Saturday expressed his regret for inadvertently mentioning alliance partner Indigenous People’s Front of Tripura (IPFT) while referring to two banned militant groups during a speech at a poll rally in Bihar earlier that day.
Taking to social media Sunday evening, Saha said he “unintentionally uttered” the name of IPFT while talking about All Tripura Tiger Force (ATTF) and the National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT), and expressed his regrets.
He also contacted IPFT chief Prem Kumar Reang, and regretted the “unintentional error”.
“While addressing in Bihar, I unintentionally uttered IPFT while referring to ATTF and NLFT. After the matter came to my notice, I sincerely regretted this unintentional mistake after contacting IPFT president Shri Prem Kumar Reang,” CM Saha wrote on his Facebook page.
In the public meeting in Bihar, CM Saha expressed confidence about the prospects of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the Bihar Assembly elections slated for November 6 and 11.
During his address in support of BJP candidates contesting from the Ramnagar and Bagaha Assembly constituencies in Bihar, Saha said that while different government schemes and initiatives helped farmers in Bihar, Tripura too is walking towards development and progress under the direction of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Saha also said Tripura witnessed terrorism and unrest in the past, but all terrorists and insurgents have surrendered, and the state is now terrorism-free. He added that the wave of change started in 2018, when the BJP first came to power in the state.

Saha also urged voters of Bihar to exercise their franchise in the upcoming Assembly polls to ensure development continues in the state.
The results of the Bihar Assembly elections will be declared on November 14.
