LONDON, ENGLAND – Apirl 1, 2025 – (Motor Sports NewsWire) – RM Sotheby’s is excited to announce the sale of one of the most significant Formula 1 cars ever to come to market—2001 Ferrari F2001 chassis 211—which is set to go under the hammer at a historic auction in MonteCarlo, just minutes before the qualifying race at the FORMULA 1 TAG HEUER GRAND PRIX DE MONACO 2025.

An icon of Formula 1, chassis 211 is among the most special and sought-after Grand Prix Ferraris ever made, and it played a vital role in building the legend of one of the most celebrated drivers of all time: Michael Schumacher.

On 27 May 2001, Michael Schumacher drove this very chassis to a historic victory, winning the ultimate prize in motorsport—the FORMULA 1 GRAND PRIX DE MONACO 2001. More significantly still, Schumacher would go on to clinch the 2001 Formula 1 Drivers’ and Constructors’ World Championships in this very car with a spectacular win in Hungary just 12 weeks later, making chassis 211 the only Michael Schumacher Ferrari to have ever won the Monaco Grand Prix and Formula 1 World Championship in the same season.

This May, history is set to be made for a second time, as chassis 211 returns to the hallowed streets of Monte Carlo to be auctioned at the site of its most famous victory. Bidding is set to begin at 3:15 p.m. CEST on 24 May, just prior to qualifying at the FORMULA 1 TAG HEUER MONACO GRAND PRIX 2025. The car will be put on display within Formula 1’s prestigious and exclusive Paddock Club™, a jaw-dropping location that places it at the very heart of the action. The auction marks the first time a Formula 1 car has ever been sold at the Monaco Grand Prix, once again writing its name into the history books.

Chassis 211 will be available to view by F1 Paddock Club™ guests on 23 May.
