Peyton Stearns enters the Miami Open at a career-high ranking inside the Top 50, and though she’s been working with coach Tom Hill, who most notably coached Maria Sakkari to the top of women’s tennis, for close to a year, Stearns confessed this week that there’s another support beam strengthening her game.
Mick Assaf, former running back for the University of Notre Dame, is the “greatest of all time” as far as the former Texas Longhorn is concerned, on and off the court.
Stearns’ declaration came on social media as X, formerly Twitter, users gushed over a shirtless photo of Assaf on the practice court under the Miami sun.
“My 🐐🩷,” she wrote, with a heart emoji.
