A lot of changes to my Week 5 college baseball Power 10 so get ready for this.
1. Tennessee | LW: 1
Although no change on top, I’ve had Tennessee at No. 1 for the past few weeks and boy did they prove they deserve that spot with a dominant sweep over top 10 Florida to open SEC play. The Vols leading the country in homers, slugging, and ERA. In the second game of the series, they run-ruled the Gators and held them scoreless as Marcus Phillips tossed his first-career complete game.
2. LSU | LW: 2
LSU stays put at two with four wins last week, and started conference play with a sweep over Missouri. The Tigers have a great series against Texas this week.
3. Arkansas | LW: 3
Arkansas at No. 3 — Dropped the first game of the series to Ole Miss but then put up 12 runs in both of the next two games. Including Sunday where Wehiwa Aloy hit two homers in their come-from-behind win to seal the series victory.
4. FSU | LW: 4
I didn’t move FSU and Georgia in that order as FSU dropped a midweek to Florida but swept BC and Georgia dropped one game of the series to Kentucky.
5. Georgia | LW: 5
The Georgia offense is putting up pretty incredible numbers, but also letting up a decent amount of runs. They won the rubber match on Sunday 17-10.
6. Oregon State | LW: 8
Alright here is where we have a ton of changes. Oregon State moves up to No. 6 with Florida dropping, they won all five games last week.
7. Clemson | LW: 9
Clemson moves up to No. 7 with a series win over Notre Dame, and then I have three NEW teams in the Power 10.
8. Texas | LW: NR
The Longhorns swept Mississippi State in their first-ever SEC series to move to 17-1 on the season with no bad loss and some strong wins early as well.
9. Oklahoma | LW: NR
Oklahoma also won its first-ever SEC series on the road over South Carolina. Now 17-2 on the season.
10. Alabama | LW: NR
And Finally, I have Alabama in at No. 10. I mean a big sweep over Texas AM who entered this season No. 1 overall. Justin Lebron’s 12 homers are tied for first in the country and he leads in RBIs. Big challenge coming up with Tennessee this week.
