No. 12 Ohio State cruised by No. 8 Maryland, 74-66 behind a second-half surge from the Buckeyes.
The Terrapins jumped out to a 10-point lead after the first 10 minutes, but the OSU hung around in the second quarter, trailing by just seven into the locker rooms.

Maryland held a 50-40 lead with six minutes to play in the third, but Ohio State found its rhythm soon after, going on a 15-0 run over the next three and a half minutes. The game flipped on its head late in the third, as the Buckeyes entered the fourth quarter with a 57-54 lead with their home crowd rocking around them.
OSU opened the fourth on a 7-0 run, controlling a 10-point lead with under eight to play. Maryland clawed back within six with three minutes to play, but Jaloni Cambridge’s eight fourth-quarter points proved too much for the Terps to overcome.

Turnovers were the difference in this ranked matchup, as the Buckeyes scored 20 points off 17 Maryland turnovers. Ohio State protected the rock well, only turning it over six times on the night.
Cambridge paced the game with 20 points, going 8-17 from the field in the win. Maryland guard Kaylene Smikle led the Terps with 17, finding six points at the charity stripe.
Ohio State (18-1, 7-1 Big Ten) bounces back after it was handed its first loss of the season last Sunday. The Buckeyes now hold sole possession of third in the conference standings, behind Big Ten newcomers, UCLA and USC.
Maryland (16-3, 6-2 Big Ten) has now dropped two straight, and the Terps will be tested again this Sunday when they take on No. 1 UCLA.
