From there, Tsitsidosa headed to the capital city of Reykjavík for more Icelandic culture, scenery and food.
First, though: a stop at the famous hot springs, where geothermal heat literally helps fuel this land. And, in its lava fields, bake bread. (Yes, incredibly, via volcanic heat.)
It was both “educational and eye-opening,” a rapt Tsitsipas says.
And, after a subsequent waterfall visit, hunger-inducing.
“After burning enough calories to equal a five-set match, we rewarded ourselves with an amazing feast at an indoor farm,” Tsitsipas notes.
“I think for him,” Badosa says, “it’s more expensive to take me on a date for food, than shopping.”
