Georgia’s Daniel Jackson and Georgia Tech’s Vahn Lackey have been the focal points of each team’s powerful offense, both putting together historic performances so far.
Here’s a closer look at two Buster Posey Midseason Watchlist candidates:
Daniel Jackson
Jackson has been the Bulldogs’ top dog all season, leading the team in nearly every offensive category, headlined by 20 home runs, the fifth-most nationally, and 18 stolen bases.

He’s on pace to become the seventh DI player to hit 25 homers and 25 stolen bases in one season. He took home another SEC Player of the Week honor last week, hitting three home runs in the series finale against Arkansas.
He’s caught 11 players stealing.
Vahn Lackey
It’s been a breakout season for Lackey, quickly climbing up the 2026 MLB Draft rankings, hitting .361 with 12 home runs, 46 RBIs and 24 extra-base hits. He made headlines earlier this season by playing eight different positions against West Georgia and one hit shy of the cycle.
There aren’t many more complete players in the country than Lackey — the proof is in the pudding — and being able to stand out in such a strong lineup, manning the four-hole, should speak for itself.
