The Boston Marathon started early for Boston College baseball — the Eagles couldn’t wait until Marathon Monday, running all over Duke in the series opener, and making NCAA history in the process.
BC swiped eight bases in the second inning of Game 1 of the series, tying the NCAA record for stolen bases in an inning and matching a rare feat accomplished only twice before by FIU in 1993 and Alabama State in 1991.

And they didn’t stop there.
Boston College finished with 14 stolen bases, setting a new program record and tying the ACC record for the most in a game. The pressure started immediately, with BC racking up 11 stolen bases through just the first two innings.

That early aggression powered Boston College to an 11–1 win over Duke, extending its win streak to five games, and etching the Eagles in the NCAA record books.
