The Election Commission on Thursday extended the last date for filing claims and objections on the draft rolls of Goa, Lakshadweep, Rajasthan, Puducherry and West Bengal in the ongoing SIR of electoral rolls to January 19.
As per the EC’s earlier schedule, electors had to file till Thursday (January 15) claims and objections on the draft electoral rolls published on December 16, 2025. Those whose names have been left out or who wants to object to a name being wrongfully included now has till January 19 to file their claims and objections.
“…Commission has considered your requests & other relevant factors and has decided to extend the same up to 19.01.2026,” the EC wrote to the CEO of the states and UTs. The EC also asked them to make sure the extension in period fis given wide publicity.
