Former vice-president Jagdeep Dhankhar remains admitted at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, and is in stable condition. Sources said that some blood tests were conducted on him on Tuesday morning.
The 74-year-old, who drew attention following his sudden resignation on the first day of the Parliament session in July last year, underwent an MRI scan on Monday.
Dhankhar was admitted to AIIMS after he fell unconscious twice on January 10, officials said. He experienced two episodes of unconsciousness when he went to the washroom. He later visited AIIMS for a routine check-up, during which doctors advised hospital admission for further tests, they added.
This is not the first time Dhankhar’s health has raised concerns. The lawyer-turned-politician is reported to have blacked out on several occasions earlier, including during visits to the Rann of Kutch, Uttarakhand, Kerala, and Delhi while attending public events as vice-president, officials said.
Dhankhar resigned as vice-president on July 21 last year, citing health reasons.
